Johanna Stickland is a Canadian born, self-taught painter and photographer based in Portugal. 
In 2017, she was commissioned by Nick Knight/SHOWstudio to illustrate the Womenswear A/W 17 collections in Milan. 
She created the album cover art for hardcore/metal bands Old Wounds, Exalt and Nostrauma.
Her work has been featured in publications such as EXIT, Juxtapoz, Vision China, Paulette and Heavy Metal Magazine. 
She is one of the photographers featured and interviewed in the Laurence King published book "Girl on Girl: Art and Photography in the Age of the Female Gaze" Curated by Charlotte Jensen, editor of Elephant Magazine. In 2018 her work was featured in the exhibition 'The Female Lens: 9 Contemporary Female Photographers' through Huxley Parlour Gallery at Photo London. In 2017 she self published a book of poetry titled Blue Song.  In 2018, Stickland held her first solo show of paintings entitled ‘The Body Collects’ in Lisbon. Johanna's paintings and photographs are held in private collections in Canada, the United States, Australia, France, the United Kingdom, Austria, Netherlands and Germany.
